More than 40,000 people marched in Athens according to the police

The Hellenic Police estimates that more than 40,000 people marched in central Athens on Wednesday to protest the rail collision at Tempe last week that left 57 people dead. Sources from the Citizen Protection Ministry also pointed out that the march was a mostly peaceful affair.

Fines totalling 52 million euros issued for health measures violations since 2020

Riot in women’s prison in Thiva after detainee dies

A riot erupted at Eleonas' Womens' Prison in central Greece on Thursday morning after a woman whom detainees suspected of being infected with the new coronavirus died earlier in the day.

The prisoners burned mattresses and called for immediate measures to protect their health and reduce overcrowding.
