Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria

''The report under the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism (CVM) is a serious blow to Bulgaria'', the leader of Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), Korneliya Ninova, commented for BTV this morning, citing leaked information last night.

In her words, the European Commission could not come to a conclusion that any of the requirements was fully met.

Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) will send a report about the ''Tsankov Kamak'' project to the Chief Prosecutor, GERB MP Aleksandar Nenkov said at a briefing in Varna amid the repair works needed to fix defects in the hydropower dam.
The ruling party will send the report next week, bTV reported. 

Prosecutor General Sotir Tsatsarov has moved to lift the immunity of GERB MP Zhivko Martinov, according to BGNES.

The motion comes in the wake of information collected by the anti-corruption unit with the prosecution service, which has been verified by the State Agency for National Security (SANS).

The MPs rejected a BGN-5,000 cap on cash payments from January 1, 2018, proposed by ruling Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB), bTV reported.

Initially, GERB offered an immediate reduction of cash payments of up to BGN 5,000, and gradually to lowering this ceiling to BGN 1,000 in the beginning of 2019.

Parliament established a temporary committee of inquiry on the case with the National Palace of Culture. The decision was adopted with 187 votes in favor and none against, according to bTV. 

The numerous requests for stripping MPs from immunity are seen as scenes of retribution to the representatives of the Bulgarian elite, political scientist Parvan Simeonov told FOCUS Radio's Good Morning Bulgaria.

It is clear that there is no unity in the ruling coalition at this stage regarding changes to the Election Code, political scientist Prof. Todor Galunov told FOCUS Radio - Veliko Tarnovo.

The Parliament has rejected in first reading amendments to the Election Code proposed by ruling Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB). 98 MPs voted in support, 121 voted against, while 1 abstained, FOCUS News Agency reported.
