Brcko Bridge Blast Deaths Commemorated in Bosnia

This year's commemoration of the April 30 1992 Brcko bridge massacre was organised by the Association of Families of the Missing, Forcibly Taken away and Killed Bosniaks of Brcko District of BiH and the Association of Families of the Missing, Forcibly Taken away and Killed Croats in collaboration with associations for helping victims and survivors of sexual violence and detainees.

Slovenia seeking to join MED7

Nicosia – Bilateral ties, EU issues, the Cyprus issue and Slovenia’s desire to join the MED7 topped the agenda as Slovenian Foreign Minister Anže Logar held talks with Cypriot counterpart Nikosom Hristodulidesom. Logar highlighted the need for small and Mediterranean countries to cooperate.

Fight on TV Talk Show Causes Outrage in Romania

Romania's TV regulator, the CNA, has ordered TV Antena 1 to pay 50,000 lei (some 11,000 euro) in fines for using "obscene language" in a popular show broadcast on September 24.

The measure has stirred a debate, with the media community and many viewers saying the decision failed to address the main issue, which is the fact that the shows featured violence as well as bad language.

Member of audiovisual watchdog indicted for influence peddling

Anticorruption prosecutors have indicted Narcisa Iorga, a member of the National Audiovisual Council (CNA, broadcast media supervising authority) for influence peddling or abuse of authority for personal or third party profits, in a case also involving Viorel Hrebenciuc, a parliament member of the Social Democratic Party.
