US liaison officer in Ankara to coordinate between Turkey, US over ops in Syria, Iraq

A U.S. official, appointed to coordinate between Turkey and the U.S. for their operations in Syria and Iraq against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), has come to Ankara for an official visit, private broadcaster CNN Türk reported on Nov. 20.

Turkey shells ISIL positions in Syria

Turkish armed forces shelled positions of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in Syria on Feb. 29, while a fragile ceasefire inside Syria continued into its third day. 

Turkish artillery, located in the southern border province of Kilis, targeted ISIL positions north of Syria's Aleppo province on Feb. 29, coordinating with the U.S.-led anti-ISIL coalition. 

US, allies conduct 26 strikes against ISIL: US military

The United States and its allies conducted 26 strikes against Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in Iraq and Syria on Jan. 2, the coalition leading the operations said in a statement on Jan. 3.

In Syria, one strike struck near Manbij, hitting an ISIL tactical unit and destroying four ISIL buildings and a vehicle, the Combined Joint Task Force said on Jan. 3. 

US, allies conduct 13 strikes in Syria, Iraq: US military

A coalition led by the United States conducted 12 strikes against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in Iraq on Nov. 30, and hit the militant group with a single strike in Syria, according to a statement released on Dec. 1. 

The sole Syria strike was near al-Hawl, hitting a tactical unit, the statement from the Combined Joint Task Force said, according to Reuters.
