Bulgarian government ministers will present the priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU in their respective areas of responsibility at hearings in the European Parliament committees. Western Balkans citizens must have authorization for Schengen
Citizens of the Western Balkan countries will in the future have to request authorization from the relevant EU bodies of to travel in the Schengen zone.
They will still not be required to have a visa, Beta has reported.
Turkey hopeful of overcoming EP's possible resistance on visa waiver
Turkey's EU Minister Volkan Bozk?r has voiced optimism for overcoming possible resistance at the European Parliament over approval of lifting visa requirements for Turkish citizens, after the European Commission said on May 4 that Ankara has met most of the necessary 72 criteria, inviting member states and EU lawmakers to endorse the move by June 30.
