Bosnian Serb TV Station Fined for False Report on Massacre
The Communications Regulatory Agency on Friday imposed a fine of 12,000 Bosnian marks (6,125 euros) on Radio Television Republika Srpska, RTRS for a breach of "fairness and impartiality" rules by broadcasting a report containing false allegations about the 1995 Tuzla Gate massacre.
Bosnian Court's Call for Crime Reporting Laws Criticised
Media experts have criticised the Bosnian State Court's request for a new law regulating media reporting on criminal cases, calling it an unwarranted attempt to interfere with journalists' reporting and work.
Media expert Mehmed Halilovic said the State Court's call for regulations on media reporting "lacked foundation".
Tighter Media Controls Sought During Bosnia Elections
The Association BH Journalists, the Coalition for Free and Fair Elections Pod Lupom, and the marketing agency Boram are urging Bosnia's authorities to male bold changes to the country's election law in order to curb biased reporting and hate speech.
