Parliament meeting for investiture of Orban Gov't II couldn't be held due to lack of quorum

Parliament's meeting for the investiture of the Orban Government II was closed on Monday by Speaker of the Deputies' Chamber Marcel Ciolacu, the Social Democratic Party (PSD) interim Chairman, who announced that there was no quorum to carry out the works. The Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies announced that out of 456 MPs, only 188 registered their presence.

CCR finds legal conflict in Ludovic Orban being appointed prime minister

The Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR) ruled on Monday that there is a legal conflict between President Klaus Iohannis and Parliament regarding the appointment of National Liberal Party (PNL) leader Ludovic Orban as prime minister, CCR officials told AGERPRES on Monday.   According to the sources, Iohannis has to make a new nomination for the position of prime minister.

President Iohannis promulgates 2020 state budget law

President Klaus Iohannis signed on Monday the decree promulgating the Law regarding the state budget on 2020 and the decree to promulgate the Law for the State social insurance budget on 2020, the Presidential Administration informs.
