Constitutional Court: Brussels Agreement a political act

BELGRADE - The Constitutional Court of Serbia confirmed on Monday that it has dismissed an initiative to assess the constitutionality and legality of the Brussels Agreement, announcing that the full text of the conclusion and a detailed explanation will be promulgated by publication in the Official Gazette.

BELGRADE -- The Constitutional Court of Serbia considers the Brussels agreement "a political, not a legal issue," and will not assess its constitutionality.

The daily Politika writes that the decision to reject the motion was made in a vote on December 10, supported by a majority of the court's members.

Assembly of Vojvodina adopts provincial statute

NOVI SAD - The Assembly of Vojvodina on Thursday adopted the top legal act of Serbia's northern province - its Statute.

Ninety-one out of the 113 assembly members attending voted for the amended Statute, seven voted against it, while the others did not take part in the vote.

The provincial assembly has 120 seats, with a two-thirds majority required to adopt the Statute.
