Istanbul Photo Awards exhibition kicks off in Ankara

An annual international photography exhibition, the Istanbul Photo Awards 2021, kicked off in Turkey's capital Ankara on Oct. 11.

Anadolu Agency Chairman of the Board and Director-General Serdar Karagöz began his speech with a sound of intensive care unit to mark the story of the winning photo from Bangladesh.

Turkey helping Palestinians in need of prosthetic eyes

Turkey is helping Palestinians in Gaza who need eye removal surgeries and ocular prostheses due to severe injuries suffered in Israeli attacks. 

Badly damaged eyes have to be surgically removed and replaced with prosthetic ones, and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) is financing the procedure for 10 Palestinians, the agency said in a statement.

Palestine thanks Turkey for medical aid

Medical aid from Turkey came at a time when the government needed it the most, Palestinian Authority's deputy foreign minister said April 30.

"This help meets the needs of Palestine in a critical period when the Palestinian budget is inadequate and the economy is negatively affected by the coronavirus outbreak," Ahmad ed-Dijk told Anadolu Agency.

First Turkish aid shipment for Rohingya Muslims arrives in Myanmar

Turkey's first shipment of humanitarian aid arrived on Sept. 6 in Myanmar's Rakhine state, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has said.       
Some 1,000 tons of emergency aid packages containing rice, dried fish and clothing were delivered to the Social Services Ministry in the Rakhine state at a handover ceremony, according to the statement.  
  

Turkey says stands behind promise for $200 million aid to Palestine

Attacks by opposition parties against the government over its perceived failure to keep its promises of assistance to the Gaza Strip appear to have prompted a top Turkish agency to list in detail the country's assistance to Gaza, which has long been strangled by blockades, war and poor governance.
