Greece to take back 'Dublin case' by end October

Greece is expected to accept back the first asylum seeker since the reinstatement of the so-called Dublin Regulation - requiring any asylum bid to be processed by the EU nation in which the applicant first arrives - by the end of October, reports said Wednesday.

The return will take place after Greek authorities accepted a request from Berlin, according to the same reports.

Protest in Front of the Court of Justice Demanding the Resignation of the Chief Prosecutor

Around 50 people gathered in protest at the Court of Justice for the resignation of Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov, reports Darik. 

According to protesters, Tsatsarov has blocked attempts for real judicial reform and has ruined public confidence in the prosecutor's office.

Citizens Protested Under the Slogan "March for European Justice"

A protest called "March for European Justice" was held last night before the Court of Justice in the capital, BNT reported.

People said that the election of a new chairman of the Supreme Administrative Court will be an answer to whether there will be a change in the judicial system.

Bulgaria May Scrap Barriers on Foreigners Buying Land

Bulgaria's Ministry of Agriculture and Foods has called for the legal barriers preventing foreign citizens from buying agricultural land to be scrapped, Minister Rumen Porozhanov said on Friday.

In an interview for BTV, the minister said the current requirement could lead to serious European sanctions being imposed.

Appointment of cleaners by Greek government goes to European Court

The issue of the appointment by the Greek government of cleaning, restaurant and security staff has gone beyond the Greek borders after the 3rd department of the Council of State (CoS) in Greece sent preliminary questions to the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU). The CoS requested to know whether the appointments of the personnel on annual contact basis was compatible with EU law.
