Türkiye's media regulator blocked access to the Turkish language services of Voice of America (VOA) and Deutsche Welle (DW) websites after the international public broadcasters refused to apply for licenses the regulator had requested.

Wikipedia ban to be lifted after top court ruling issued
Turkey's telecommunications watchdog is set to lift its ban on online encyclopedia Wikipedia after the official publication on Jan. 15 of a top court ruling that the more than two-year block was a violation of expression.

Let us all take France as an example
Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu said the media should take France as example. The first job that everybody knows the best in Turkey is football technical management and the second is managing a newspaper.
That's why it should not be a surprise why the prime minister is attempting to teach the media. As a matter of fact, I do not underestimate this taking as an example.

Deputy police chief released after six-day arrest over homicide in Istanbul
A deputy chief of police in Istanbul who was arrested early on Aug. 18 over the killing of a motorcycle rider in a road-rage incident has been released pending trial.
Celal Y?lmaz, 51, who shot dead a motorcycle driver who pointed a gun at him during a traffic quarrel, was released on Aug. 24 upon his lawyer's application to the Bak?rköy Criminal Court of Peace.

The result of the rush of the omnibus bill
We are right in the middle of a scandal that would never ever occur in a country under the rule of law.
The Criminal Court of Peace judges who are authorized to decide on arrests have been rejected; it is not definite which authority is to decide on this demand.
