"The prosecution considers that it has proved beyond doubt that the defendants committed the crimes that they are charged with in this case," said Bosnian state prosecutor Igor Dubak.

The trial of former soldier Osman Osmanovic opened at Belgrade Higher Court on Monday with the defendant pleading not guilty to charges of abusing civilians and prisoners of war held at the Rasadnik camp in Gornji Rahic in Bosnia and Herzegovina's Brcko area during the summer of 1992.

The Bosnian state court told BIRN that Marinko Sunjic, who was accused of detaining, persecuting and committing grave abuses against Bosniak civilian prisoners in Mostar in 1992-93, has died and the proceedings against him have been discontinued.

Miletic is serving his sentence in a prison in Finland.

The Constitutional Court in Sarajevo has rejected as unfounded Mate Baotic's appeal against the verdict from 2017 sentencing him to 13 years in prison for war crimes including rapes and the abuse of prisoners.

"The Constitutional Court has determined that there was no violation of the right to a fair trial," the court said in its decision.

Croatian media reported that Split county court found former Croatian Defence Council fighters Marinko Maric and Zeljko Rodin guilty of war crimes against Bosniak civilians and prisoners of war held at detention camps in the Western Herzegovina area from July to September 1993.

The Serbian War Crimes Prosecution told BIRN that it has charged Osman Osmanovic with committing war crimes against civilians and prisoners of war at the Rasadnik camp in Gornji Rahic in Bosnia and Herzegovina's Brcko area during the summer of 1992.

The indictment was issued on Friday and has yet to be confirmed by a court.

Hector Gullan, a former member of British peacekeeping forces, has sent an open letter to the European Commission and the Council of the European Union, asking them to call on new Croatian President Zoran Milanovic and Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic to address the issue of Zagreb's non-extradition of war crime indictees to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Defendant Josip Kresic has died and was buried last week in Stolac, where his alleged wartime crimes were committed, his lawyer Nenad Gvozdic told BIRN.

He is the third defendant in the case to have died before a verdict was handed down, after the deaths of former co-defendants Mirko Raguz and Ivica Markovic.
