Ancient Armenian church holds holy mass
The historic Akdamar Church in the eastern province of Van has welcomed thousands from around the world for its 10th special mass, following its restoration and reopening as a museum in 2010.
The mass, which gathered thousands of local and international faithful in Van, was officiated by priest Harutyun Damadyan.
The attendees prayed and hymned in the historic church.

Istanbul’s Maiden’s Tower getting a new look
Istanbul has not been able to see the Maiden's Tower, one of the landmarks that complete its silhouette, for a while.
Last November, a pier was built around it, and it was covered with a curtain that reads "The Maiden's Tower opens its eyes again," with the logo of the Culture and Tourism Ministry on it.

Over 16,000 schools provided with libraries
Some 16,000 libraries have been established across the country in two months, said the education minister.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the library in a high school in the capital Ankara, named after psychiatrist Erol Göka, Education Minister Mahmut Özer said that 16,361 schools that did not have a library have been provided with libraries in the last two months.

Russia to hold cruise ship tours to Türkiye
As sanctions imposed on Moscow amid the war in Ukraine hits its aviation sector, Russia is now preparing to launch cruise ship tours to Türkiye this month.
The Astoria Grande cruise ship will hold tours from the Russian city of Sochi in the Black Sea to Istanbul starting mid-July.

Over 90,000 books published in first half of 2022
The number of books published in the first six months of 2022 in Türkiye was 90,149, the Culture and Tourism Ministry has said, noting that the number of books published increased by 1.6 percent compared with the same period of last year.
