‘Extraordinary reader’ turns village into ecotourism hub
The northwestern province of Bilecik's Kurşunlu village welcomes 500 tourists a month, thanks to ecotourism that started in 2012 under the leadership of Bedriye Berber Engin, who was awarded the title of "extraordinary reader" by the Culture and Tourism Ministry.

Diyarbakır Prison turns into museum: Erdoğan
Diyarbakır Prison, which has long been associated with cruelty, torture, and inhumane acts after the Sept. 12, 1980, military coup, turns into a museum, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said visiting the southeastern province on Oct. 23.

Wall paintings in St. Nicholas Museum being touched up
Within the scope of a restoration and landscaping project implemented by the Culture and Tourism Ministry, the wall paintings that were previously unearthed in the St. Nicholas Museum in the southern province of Antalya's Demre district are getting a retouch.
New murals from the 11th century were also unearthed during the work at the museum.
AKP submits bill for ministry to cover cemevis’ expenses
The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) deputies have submitted a bill to the parliament for the Culture and Tourism Ministry to cover the lighting expenses of the cemevis, Alevi houses of worship.
The bill also proposes that the water costs will be met at a discount or free of charge.
Diyarbakır Prison to be turned into museum
Diyarbakır Prison, which has been long associated with cruelty, torture, and inhumane acts after the Sept. 12, 1980, military coup, will be closed and turned into a museum.
The protocol regarding the transfer of the prison from the Justice Ministry to the Culture and Tourism Ministry was signed between the two ministries.

Show reveals Picasso’s inspiration
Within the scope of the Beyoğlu Cultural Road Festival, organized by the Culture and Tourism Ministry, "Picasso Eterno" will meet with the audience at Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) on Oct. 15 in Istanbul.
The show, which describes Picasso's emotional world with music and costumes reflecting Spanish folklore, will be staged for the first time in Türkiye.

Cultural Road Festival opens in Diyarbakır
The Sur Cultural Road Festival, organized for the first time this year within the scope of the Turkish Cultural Road Festival events, has started in Diyarbakır.
Organized by the Culture and Tourism Ministry, the festival will host more than 600 events with the participation of more than 2,000 artists until Oct. 16.
