Two ISIL suspects sought with red notice detained
Turkish police have detained three foreign ISIL suspects, including two sought by Interpol with red notice in the capital Ankara.
According to Demirören News Agency, police detected two ISIL suspects, identified only with the initials A.N. and C.V., in Ankara and caught both in an operation on June 19.

Rumi 165 cm tall, 60 kilos heavy: Expert
Rumi was a man weighing between 60 and 63 kilos, with a height of 160 and 165 centimeters, the head of the Rumi Museum in the Central Anatolian province of Konya has said.
Naci Bakırcı highlighted that he has come to this conclusion after examining Rumi's 19 clothes in the museum's inventory and some 18th-century drawings.

Nearly 478,000 visit Cappadocia in a month
Some 477,757 people have visited Cappadocia, the historical region in Central Anatolia famous for its fairy chimneys, in May this year, a number nearly eight times higher than the same month the previous year, the Governor's Office of the province of Nevşehir has announced.
"In May 2021, the number of the visitors was 61,634," said the office in a statement on June 7.

The ongoing restoration works on the historical clock tower in the southern province of Antalya have revealed that the original clock inserted on the outer surface of the tower at the beginning of the 20th century was stolen and a plastic clock was put instead.
MİT catches PKK assassin in northern Syria
Turkish Intelligence Organization (MİT) has captured Dilbirin Kaçar, a PKK assassin codenamed "Rojda," in Syria and brought him to Turkey.
"Kaçar was detained in a MİT operation in northern Syria's Aleppo province's Ayn al-Arab district," Demirören News Agency reported on June 7.

Monument for ‘mother of Caretta carettas’ built
A monument has been constructed in the Dalyan neighborhood of the southwestern province of Muğla's Ortaca district in the name of June Haimoff, a British environmentalist, known as the "mother of Caretta carettas," who died on April 23 at the age of 100.
