Kosovo MPs Hold Marathon Debate on Activist's Death
MPs from the ruling coalition of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, PDK, and the Democratic League of Kosovo, LDK, convoked an extraordinary session of parliament to discuss the death of opposition activist Astrit Dehari - having earlier refused to discuss the matter on the grounds that they were awaiting the official forensic report.
Kosovo Tax Officials Admit Ties to Politicians
Behxhet Haliti, former director of the Kosovo tax administration, TAK, admitted maintaining connections with top politicians during his two mandates from 2009 to 2015, adding that he was not ashamed of having helped the ruling Democratic Party of Kosovo, PDK.

Kosovo Budget Held up by Row Over Veteran Benefits
Kosovo parliament's budget and finance committee will meet again on Wednesday for the sixth time since the government at the beginning of November moved the law to discuss the 2017 budget.
The meeting comes two days after the committee failed to debate the budget because MPs from the senior coalition partner, the Democratic League of Kosovo, PDK, failed to show up.

Kosovo's Vetevendosje Rallies Supporters in Albania
Two leaders of Kosovo's Vetevendosje [Self determination] Movement, party chairman Visar Ymeri and one of the founders, Albin Kurti, rallied several hundred supporters in Tirana, Albania, on Tuesday, explaining why they oppose the Kosovo parliament adopting a demarcation deal with Montenegro.
Kosovo Opposition MPs Repeat Election Demand
Opposition politicians in Kosovo have repeated their demand for early elections, saying this alone will solve the country's acute political crisis.
Rexhep Selimi, an MP from the opposition Vetevendosje [Self-Determination] movement, said the government had lost its legitimity and even its legality.

Hashim Thaci elected President of Kosovo
Hashim Thaci has been elected as Kosovo's president after 71 of the country's 120 MPs voted in favour of his nomination. Ten ballots were deemed invalid.
The alternative candidate, Rafet Rama, also from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, PDK, received no votes.

Hashim Thaci Sets Sights on Kosovo's Presidency
The governing Democratic Party of Kosovo has named its leader Thaci as its candidate for the presidency, and its coalition ally, the Democratic League of Kosovo, has said it will support the nomination.
Kosovo's constitution stipulates that the next president should be confirmed by MPs 30 days before the incumbent's mandate expires.

Kosovo Opposition MPs Hurl Eggs at PM
Opposition MPs hurled eggs towards Kosovo's Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, while he was addressing parliament on the latest agreement reached between Pristina and Belgrade on August 25.
MPs from the nationalist Self-determination movement erupted during the Prime Minister's speech when he said that the recent agreement complied with Kosovo's constitution.

Kosovo to Reform Taxes To Help Businesses and Poor
The Kosovo government is pushing for significant tax reform, aimed at stimulating investment, as well as lowering VAT on basic consumer goods, aimed at the helping the poor.
MPs in the assembly are due to vote on the changes on Thursday.
