Kosovo Faces Polls As MPs Dissolve Parliament
With 90 votes in favour, four against and three abstentions, members of the Kosovo Assembly dissolved parliament, paving the way for early elections expected in June.
By law, elections must be held between 30 and 45 days from the date of the dissolution of the Assembly.

Kosovo Fears Limited Timeline to Stage Elections
Members of the Kosovo Central Election Commission, CEC, are concerned they will have only a limited time to prepare for early general elections if they are held next month.
“If June 8 is set as the date, the CEC will have only about 30 days, which will be quite challenging,” Florian Dushi, a CEC member, told BIRN.

Kosovo PM Pushes For Snap Elections in June
Amid continuing uncertainties over the date of national elections in Kosovo, Prime Minister Hashim Thaci has proposed June 8 as a potential option.
He made his proposal on Friday to the President, Atifete Jahjaga, at a meeting held at the presidency building in Pristina.

Kosovo Intelligence Agency Needs Reform, MPs Say
The Kosovo's parliament's commission supervising the Intelligence Agency, KIA, has urged authorities to take measures after several scandals hit the security institution.
Fadil Demaku, deputy head of parliament's commission for the KIA, said the recent scandals concerning the agency had “had a very bad impact on its image among the public.

Kosovo Extends EU Rule-of-Law Mission Mandate
Kosovo’s government on Tuesday voted in favour of a draft law which will see the mandate of the EU rule-of-law mission, EULEX, extended until June 15, 2016, and guarantees the continued operation of EULEX’s Special Investigative Task Force, SITF.
The extension of EULEX’s mandate was requested by Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga.

Kosovo PM Misusing Public Cash, Opposition Says
Isa Mustafa, head of the opposition LDK, has accused Prime Minister Thaci of “using public and state resources to campaign. This is illegal," he said.
"He is putting the stability of the country at risk; similar actions by other politicians have led Greece, for example, into an economic crisis,” he said.

Opposition MPs condemnd the decision of the Kosovo government to increase salaries for employees in the public sector by 25 to 50 per cent on Thursday.
CEC confirms Rakic's victory in northern Mitrovica elections
KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - The Kosovo Central Electoral Commission (CEC) confirmed that leader of the Citizens' Initiative Srpska Goran Rakic won in the elections for northern Mitrovica mayor.
According to the final results of the elections, Rakic won 2,778 votes which is 52.48 percent of the total turnout, stated Nenad Rikalo late on Wednesday as the only Serb member of CEC.
Polling stations in northern Mitrovica close
KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - A total of 33 polling places in seven polling centres closed in northern Kosovska Mitrovica at 7 p.m. where citizens cast their ballots for the mayor of the city in north Kosovo-Metohija.
Citizens who were at the polling stations by the closing have the chance to cast their ballots and the polling centres officially closed at 7 p.m.

Rikalo: Vote counting should be done in Kosovska Mitrovica
KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Member of Kosovo's Central Election Commission Nenad Rikalo said on Sunday he expected the votes from the rerun of the mayoral election in northern Kosovska Mitrovica, northern Kosovo, to be counted on the spot.
