Five terror suspects arrested in Diyarbakır raid

Police have apprehended five suspected members of the PKK during an operation in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır and seized a significant cache of weapons and explosives, Internal Minister Ali Yerlikaya has announced.

The minister revealed that the suspects were allegedly in the midst of preparing a bomb attack.

Police chiefs reshuffled with presidential decree

Police chiefs of 10 provinces have been assigned to the headquarters and new police chiefs have been appointed in 33 provinces of the country in line with a presidential decree published in the Official Gazette on July 7.

One civil chief inspector and 26 police chiefs were appointed as internal affairs counselors to 27 overseas missions.

Three detained over PKK attack in Turkey's Diyarbakır

Three people were detained in conneciton to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) bomb attack in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır, as the death toll of the Jan. 16 attack rose to four. 

Four police officers were killed and two others were wounded on Jan. 16 in a PKK bomb attack targeting an armored police vehicle in Diyarbakır's Sur district. 

Turkish police detain 55 HDP and DBP members in southeast

Police detained 55 members of the Kurdish issue-focused Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and its local affiliate the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), including senior officials, in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır early on Oct. 11. 

Police raided addresses belonging to party members in an operation conducted across several districts in Diyarbakır, Doğan News Agency has reported.
