Skopje Criminal Court on Tuesday sentenced Democratic Union for Integration, DUI party officials Ejup Alimi and Ismet Guri to three-and-a-half years in jail each for the "destruction of electoral materials" in Skopje's municipality of Cair during the 2013 local polls.

North Macedonia President Rejects Allegations Against Intelligence Chief
President Stevo Pendarovski defended Erol Musliu on Thursday, calling him a "a top professional", after the Democratic Union for Integration, DUI party, the junior partner in North Macedonia's ruling coalition, criticised his appointment as the new National Intelligence Agency chief.
Fatal Shootout in Macedonia Blamed on Party Feud
Police in Tetovo, western Macedonia, on Friday confirmed that Naim Rexhepi, born 1971, died in a shootout that started around 6.20pm on Thursday in Mala Recica, the location of the governing DUI party's headquarters.
One other person with gunshot wounds was brought to the hospital in nearby Tetovo, the hospital said.

FYROM: Opposition submits 35,000 amendments to language bill
FYROM (Macedonian) Assembly President Talat Xhaferi expects the opposition VMRO-DPMNE to withdraw more than 35,000 amendments that it submitted to the Bill on Language.
Earlier this month, Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov refused to sign this bill, that would make Albanian the country's second official language, into law, and sent it back to parliament.

Xhaferi, who is from the DUI party representing ethnic Albanians, said Macedonia's coalition government was "determined to pass this law."
Macedonia Pension Fund Probed Over Spiralling Debts
After Labour Ministry started to investigate the increasing debts run up by the State Pension Fund, PIOM, it rushed to repay its multi-million euro owings, private pension funds confirmed.
PIOM's debt burden had raised questions about its liquidity and the government's policy of annual pensions increases.

Bajram Limani, president of the local branch of the DUI party in Kumanovo, Macedonia, has surrendered to the police.
Limani is a suspect in the murder of Xhemail Rexhepi that took place on Thursday afternoon.
Grenade hits DUI party offices in FYROM
An explosion took place in front of the DUI party’s HQ last night in FYROM. According to information, the explosion was caused by a grenade thrown by two people on a motorbike.
According to the Tetovo police, the explosion did not cause significant material damage, nor was anyone wounded.

Murder of teen not ethnically motivated - Albanian party
SKOPJE -- The murder of a Macedonian teenager for which an Albanian has been arrested as a suspect was not ethnically motivated, the Albanian DUI party has said.
This party condemned the incident in the strongest terms, but also appealed that it not be placed "in the ethnic context."
