Parliamentary body endorsees changes in education
Ljubljana – The parliamentary Education Committee endorsed late on Friday amendments to the organisation and financing of education act, which would change the composition of school and kindergarten councils to increase the influence of the founder, as members of the opposition obstructed.

SVIZ launching campaign for Kustec to step down

Remedial classes to continue in school year 2021-2022
Education Minister Sorin Cimpeanu said on Tuesday in Ploiesti that the programme of remedial classes will be extended throughout the school year 2021-2022, to make up for educational losses as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Govt without go-ahead for uni application process for now
Ljubljana – The government has not yet okayed this year’s call for applications to enrol in university courses in what the Slovenian Student Organisation (ŠOS) sees as an encroachment upon tertiary education autonomy. The University of Ljubljana management thinks the procedure could be jeopardised, a risk Prime Minister Janez Janša dismissed.
Turkey among top 10 nations with highest number of international students
Turkey has acquired the 10th spot in the list of countries with the highest number of international students, according to data by UNESCO.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) has compiled data on the countries hosting the most foreign students in the world, and Turkey has taken the 10th spot as it entertained 125,138 students in 2018.
The Teacher Salary to Become BGN 1750?
The average gross teacher salary is expected to become about BGN 1750 in 2021, Milena Damyanova, chairman of the Education Committee said. The growth of salaries in the field of education is unprecedented for the state budget and at the moment the average gross teacher salary is higher than the average for the country as there are regions in which it reaches BGN 1500, she added.
