In 2022: Unemployment increased in two-thirds of the Regions in Bulgaria
In two-thirds of the regions in Bulgaria, unemployment increased last year, according to the annual report of the Employment Agency.
Vidin region had the highest reported rate of unemployed last year - 14.1 percent compared to 12.3 a year earlier. Montana, Vratsa, Silistra also have over 10% unemployed.
There is a Dire Need for Labor in Bulgaria: Cooks and Tailors are in High Demand
The business has an urgent need for nearly 240 thousand workers and specialists in various fields. The biggest shortages are of tailors, salespeople, machine operators and cooks. Over 70% of employers in Bulgaria find it difficult to find staff in these areas. The data are from a study by the Employment Agency.
Bulgaria: How Much will the State give to Ukrainians that Started Working in the Country?
As of today, BGN 356 for 3 months will be provided by the Employment Agency for rents and overheads of expenses of Ukrainian citizens with temporary protection who have started work in Bulgaria.
In addition, the state will provide employers with a minimum wage and insurance for 3 months when hiring Ukrainian citizens displaced after February 24.
About 100,000 Refugees remain in Bulgaria
"297,000 Ukrainian citizens have entered Bulgaria, about 100,000 people are still on Bulgarian territory," Mariana Tosheva, chairwoman of the State Agency for Refugees, told BNT.
According to her, this is a completely normal ratio compared to other European countries. The last ten days have seen a trend of entry and exit in Ukraine.

Unemployment in Bulgaria is Starting to Rise
The newly registered unemployed Bulgarians in the whole country are again more than the ones who got a job - this is shown by the latest data from the specialized labor market monitoring of the National Statistical Institute and the preliminary data of the Employment Agency due to Covid-19. In the last week observed so far from October 11 to 17, they are 5300 and 3460 people, respectively.

Bulgaria: How Much Did Unemployment Decrease in the Summer?
