Natural gas cuts to industrial zones end: Botaş

Turkey's Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (Botaş) announced yesterday that natural gas cuts to industrial zones would end as of this morning.

In a tweet, the national energy company thanked industrialists "for their understanding and cooperation in this period."

On Jan. 20, Iran halted natural gas flow into Turkey for 10 days due to technical failures on a key pipeline.

Power consumption up 7 percent in January

Turkey's electricity consumption increased by around 7 percent on an annual basis in January, according to the latest data released by the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry.

Power consumption reached 28.60 billion kilowatt-hours last month, while electricity production also increased by 6.48 percent to 28.56 billion kilowatt-hours compared to January 2021.

Iran fails to meet conditions in natural gas contract: Turkey

Iran has failed to meet some technical conditions regarding the setup in the natural gas contract with Turkey, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez has said.

Turkey will add 7 tons of gold to its annual production in 2024

Turkey will earn nearly 7 tons of gold from a newly discovered mine in the northwestern province of Bilecik when the production capacity reaches its peak in 2024, the head of the mine's operator firm told Demirören News Agency on Oct. 23.

"We want to cast the first gold bullion at the end of 2022 and bring it to the Turkish economy," said Gübretaş President Fahrettin Poyraz.
