Citizens of Sofia Will Pay More for Water in 2021

The price of water in Sofia and Razgrad will be raised by about 6 percent, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission decided. Prices will up a little in Varna, Plovdiv, Pernik, Pleven and Kardzhali. Water price reduction is planned for 16 regions, the largest being in Sliven - by 14 percent, in Yambol and Dobrich - by 12-13 percent and in Vidin - by nearly 10 percent.

Bulgaria: Calculation of Heating Bills on Annual Basis Took too Much Time

The method chosen for calculating heating bills is one of the reasons for the higher prices, Anton Ivanov from the Bulgarian Energy and Mining Forum told the Bulgarian National Radio.

He explained that this method is based on the principle of projection consumption data, measured values and the way of heating distribution.

Energy Watchdog Chair: There is no Way Money Can be Refunded to Consumers as a Result of Gas Price Reduction

Ivan Ivanov, chair of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission stated that without amendments to the law there is no way money can be refunded to consumers as a result of the reduction in natural gas prices. He added that such a decision with retroactive effect would be annulled in court, BNR reported.

There Will be no Change in the Price of Electricity and Steam Until the New Year

The approved price for the fourth quarter is BGN 44.85 per MWh.

The new heating season will start without changes in the prices of steam, hot water and electricity. They remain unchanged, despite a 0.11% decrease in the price of natural gas for the fourth quarter of 2019, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) reported.

KEVR Approved Electricity Prices for Customers of EVN Bulgaria from 1 July 2019

In its decision № CC-19 dated July 1, 2019, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (KEVR) approved new electricity prices for household and non-residential customers connected to a low-voltage grid in Southeastern Bulgaria in force since 01.07.2019.

Protest in front of KEVR Building Because of the Electricity, Heating and Hot Water Price Increase

Citizens are gathering in protest in front of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (KEVR) building because of the rise in electricity, heating and hot water prices.

According to protesters, the increase is illegal and will affect the prices of all products and services.

KEVR Will Have Meeting on the Gas Price in Bulgaria

The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission will hold an open gas price meeting for the third quarter.

At the request of Bulgargaz, the price may fall slightly - by about 1%. This will affect suppliers and customers connected to the gas network.

By the end of June, KEVR should also announce the price of electricity and heating. However, an increase is expected for them.
