"The final wasn't as easy as it looked like. Emotionally it was difficult, there was a big emotional charge, but I was clear in my tactics.

Roger Federer became the first man to win Wimbledon eight times and extended his record to 19 Grand Slam titles with victory over Croatia's Marin Cilic, according to BBC Sports. 

The Swiss third seed won 6-3 6-1 6-4 as seventh seed Cilic struggled with a blister on his left foot and broke down in tears during the second set.

Williams will be seeking a sixth Wimbledon singles title Saturday against Garbine Muguruza, who advanced to the final at the All England Club by beating Magdalena Rybarikova 6-1, 6-1.

Roger Federer stunned Milos Raonic in straight sets - 6:4, 6:2, 7:6(4) in the quarter-finals and continued his battle for a record 8th Wimbledon title with not a single set lost. Federer needed just 2 hours to finish his Canadian opponent off. That was victory number 100 for the phenomenal Swiss at "All England Club". 

It's more obvious than ever that Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams have really distanced themselves from the rest of the elite in tennis.
