Polakis to face Parliament’s ethics committee after battle royal with Georgiadis, who will sue him
Parliament Speaker Kostas Tasoulas has referred SYRIZA MP Pavlos Polakis to the legislature's Ethics Committee in the latest episode in the vendetta between the SYRIZA MP and Development Minister and New Democracy vice-president Adonis Georgiadis over charges that the latter as health minister received kickbacks from the pharmaceutical giant Novartis.

The debate by Parliament's Ethics Committee on Wednesday was indeed a revealing one with regard to ruling SYRIZA's mind-set. Government MPs on the committee decided to make use of Article 86, concerning the prosecution of ministers, to help shield Alternate Health Minister Pavlos Polakis and the former coalition partner and Independent Greeks leader Panos Kammenos from prosecution.

OFI Crete is relegated for match-fixing
The Greek soccer federation decided on Monday the relegation of OFI Crete to the second division, and of second-tier club Aiginiakos to the third division, for fixing last year's Football League match between them.
