Janša receives European bishops and church representatives
Ljubljana – Prime Minister Janez Janša met with representatives of the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the EU (COMECE) and the Conference of European Churches (CEC) on Friday. They discussed the global role of the EU, religious freedom and the ongoing pandemic, said the PM’s office and the Slovenian Bishops’ Conference (SŠK).

Djuric concerned over lack of dialogue between expert teams
BELGRADE - Belgrade is interested in continuing the dialogue with Pristina, Director of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Marko Djuric said Wednesday at a meeting with members of the Council of the EU Working Party on Enlargement and Countries Negotiating Accession to the EU (COELA), expressing concern over the fact that expert teams had not met in Brussels since November.
Chapters 5, 25 certain to be opened, decision on Chapter 26 due Tuesday
BRUSSELS - Following Friday's meeting of the Working Party on Enlargement and Countries Negotiating Accession to the EU (COELA), Serbia looks almost certain to also open Chapter 25 in its EU accession talks along with Chapter 5 (public procurement) next Tuesday.
Brussels Capital Region Blocks CETA As Well
After Belgium's Wallonia region, the capital region of Brussels has also refused to ratify the free-trade agreement between Canada and the EU (CETA).
At present, two out of the three regions in the country have declared that they do not support CETA.

NKEU: Government should take urgent steps to open talks
BELGRADE - The National Convention on the EU (NKEU) appealed to the Serbian government on Wednesday to take immediate steps focused towards opening the first chapters of the accession talks with the EU as soon as possible and towards speeding up the EU integration process.

BELGRADE -- Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić says he expects EU members "to recognize and appreciate the efforts Serbia is investing in the process of EU integration."
In his opinion, this would allow the planned pace of the opening of first negotiation chapters by the end of 2014 to be maintained.

Serb List to seek postponement of assembly session
BELGRADE -- The Serb List will request postponement of the planned continuation of the inaugural session of the Kosovo assembly, scheduled for Friday.
This was revealed on Thursday by the director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Đurić.
