Momirovic: Serbia's external trade rising steadily, reached 83 bln euros in 2022

BELGRADE - Serbia is seeing steady growth of external goods and services trade, which reached 83 bln euros in 2022, Serbian Minister of Internal and External Trade Tomislav Momirovic said on Monday, adding that Serbian businesses were able to export duty-free to the CEFTA, EFTA, Russian, Eurasian Union and Turkish markets thanks to FTAs.

Vucic for "Financial Times": They are more honest now

President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic stated this, adding that the only responsible approach is to rely on ourselves.
Such a decision, despite reform efforts taken by Albania and Northern Macedonia, made it clear to the region that "it is not all up to us", Vucic said in an interview given to the Financial Times, entitled "Balkan nations bank on regional ties after EU snub".

For 45% of Serbs, the EU's Мost Аcceptable Foreign Policy Priority

According to a study by Belgrade's Bureau of Social Research (BIRODI), 45.5 percent of Serbian citizens consider Serbia's EU membership the most acceptable foreign policy priority, while 17.6 percent believe Serbia should be a member of The Eurasian Union. Just over one-third of those surveyed said Serbia should not be a member of either the EU, NATO, or the Eurasian Union.

Strong message to Serbia: If you want to move on EU path, this is not the way to go

Miroslav Lajk, Slovakia's Diplomacy, reacted to the announced Serbia's signing of the free trade agreement with Eurasian Union (EAEU), supported by Russia.
"If you are sure in your European orientation, don't make decisions which are not in line with it, as this one isn't", Lajk concluded.

Bulgaria facing "serious demographic problem"

Dimitrova said that Bulgaria is one of the countries with a serious demographic problem.

In the current year, 60,000 less children are expected to be born at the national level, which represents a new negative demographic record for Bulgaria.

In the period from January 1 to December 1, 2017, 58,000 children were born, and 53,543 in 2018.
