European Commission backs visa-free travel for Turkish citizens
The European Commission recommended May 4 that Turkish citizens be added to the list of countries to be exempt from visas when entering the Schengen zone.
As part of a Turkey-EU migrant deal reached to curb the flow of migrants into the bloc, the EU pledged visa-free travel for Turkish citizens by July on the stipulation that Turkey met all 72 required criteria.

European Commission raises forecast for Serbia's GDP growth
BELGRADE - The European Commission (EC) has raised its forecast for Serbia's GDP growth in 2016 to 2 percent, said a statement released in Brussels on Tuesday.
An earlier EC forecast, released in February, was 1.6 percent, with 2017 GDP growth anticipated to be at 2.5 percent.

Turkey has decided to lift visa requirements for all EU citizens in a move aimed at ensuring visa-free travel to Europe for its own nationals.
The Turkish government adopted the decision granting visa-free travel to citizens of the 28 EU member states late on Monday, according to the country's Official Gazette.

EU sees a light, warns of risks
The European Commission has confirmed its estimate that Greece's 2015 budget closed with a primary surplus of 0.7 percent of gross domestic product. However it did note in its spring economic forecasts on Tuesday that this result came mostly by way of temporary measures and argued that the future holds a number of risks for the Greek economy.
