Hahn: EC, European family - Serbia's partner on EU patH

BELGRADE - Johannes Hahn, European commissioner for neighborhood policy and enlargement negotiations, stated on Thursday that he came to Belgrade to once again assure Serbian people and authorities that the European Commission and the European family of peoples are Serbia's partner on the EU pathway.

Weak exports hampering Greek recovery

The Greek economy may be basking in the glow of a record summer tourism season, but it is just one bright spot in a fragile recovery overshadowed by weak exports, economists say.

“Tourism did the best it could to lift the Greek economy but it can’t do it all,” said economist Panayiotis Petrakis at the University of Athens.

Minister sees no serious interest in Cyprus Airways

The Cypriot government said on Wednesday it has yet to receive any serious interest in Cyprus Airways, four months after launching a search for investors in the struggling airline.

Communications Minister Marios Demetriades appeared to dismiss interest from Ireland’s Ryanair and Greece’s Aegean Airlines, which have been holding talks with his government.

KTB Majority Owner Appeals Banking Licence Withdrawal

The majority shareholder in Bulgaria's collapsed Corporate Commercial Bank, or KTB, has appealed the central bank's decision to scrap KTB's banking licence, frognews.bg reported on Wednesday.

Bromak, a company owned by Tsvetan Vasilev, is KTB's majority shareholder. The appeal was filed with the Supreme Administrative Court (SAC).
