The EU Summit started at approximately 16.00 (Athens time) in Brussels.

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, accompanied by the two new Alternate Foreign Ministers, Nikos Chountis and Euclid Tsakalotos, has his work cut out for him as he will try to persuade the European leaders to agree to a political solution for Greece.

As part of the 17th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival and in collaboration with the office of the European Parliament in Greece, a press conference will be held on Friday March 20, 2015, at 13:00, at the IANOS bookstore (Aristotelous 7), to commemorate International Women's Day, which was celebrated on March 8.

PM receives European Parliament delegation

BELGRADE -- Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic received a delegation of the European Parliament on Thursday in Belgrade and said Serbia's strategic goal was EU membership.

He added that his government was "determined to fulfill the objectives in the European integration process."

The main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) boycotted the 76th Turkey-EU Joint Parliamentary Commission (KPK) meeting on March 19 in protest at the "autocratic rule" of the Turkish government and its "insincere and oppressive" policies.

EP official: Serbian government "committed to EU future"

Bulgarian MEP Eva Paunova (EPP) has been awarded for being the "best newcomer" in the European Parliament.

In The Parliament Magazine, a Brussels-based news edition, 18 MEPs were pointed as the winners for 2015.

BELGRADE - Eduard Kukan, head of the delegation of the EU-Serbia Stabilization and Association Parliamentary Committee (SAPC) of the European Parliament, will on Thursday be on a visit to Belgrade, where he will talk with Serbia's top officials.

Turkey has given the European Commission a revised position paper for European Union accession chapter 17, economic and monetary policies, and expects the bloc to open the chapter in eight weeks' time, EU Minister Volkan Bozkir has told Hürriyet Daily News.

President Klaus Iohannis will participate in the spring meeting of the European Council in Brussels on Thursday and Friday, the Presidential Administration announced.
