Team Romania, coordinated Professor Sebastian Popescu of the Faculty of Physics of the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University (UAIC) in Iasi, won three gold and two silver medals at the International Physics Olympiad 2021.

The article about the discovery is published in the prestigious Science Magazine and the lead author is Trifon Trifonov of Max Planck Institute of Astronomy who is an alumni of Sofia St. Kliment Ohridski University, Faculty of Physics.

Romania's team members won three gold medals and one silver medal in the first edition of the Physics Balkan Olympiad, carried out in Thessaloniki, July 14-18, 2019, informs a press release of the National Education Ministry (MEN).
