President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has sued main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu once more over the latter's statement that the president is "the highest ranking politician with links to [the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization] FETÖ." 

Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has accused the government of continuing Turkey's emergency rule in order to conceal its former support to the network of U.S.-based Fethullah Gülen, accusing President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of being the "highest ranking politician with links to [the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization] FETÖ."

Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar spoke to an Ankara court as a party witness for the case regarding the events at the Turkish General Staff Headquarters on the night of the failed coup on July 15, 2016, saying the army had failed to detect the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization's (FETÖ) infiltration into the military.

Tension erupted on Feb. 12 at an Istanbul courthouse where the hearing of the alleged “media wing” of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) cases was taking place.
