EU Commission signs 400 million euro earthquake aid package

Deputy Foreign Minister Mehmet Kemal Bozay and EU Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms Elisa Ferreira signed the official authorization agreement for a 400 million euro aid package to be provided to Türkiye through the EU Solidarity Fund for the region affected by the Feb. 6 earthquakes last year.

Bill on beach exploitation unveiled

The Finance Ministry's much anticipated draft law on beaches and their commercial exploitation was put to public consultation on Friday. With 24 articles, the ministry redefines issues such as the demarcation of coastal areas, the way coastal areas and beaches can be leased, and the penalties for violators.

Mali meets with World Bank's Alam

BELGRADE - Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali met with World Bank Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia Asad Alam in Belgrade on Monday.

The parties said Serbia's economic performance was good and that there were no problems with any of the 14 projects the World Bank was involved in in Serbia.

POS deadline to get pushed back a month

The National Economy and Finance Ministry intends to extend the deadline for the mandatory installation of POS terminals by one month, the Athens Chamber of Tradesmen stated on Friday, after a meeting between Deputy Minister Harry Theoharis, the chamber's president, Giannis Theodosiou, and general secretary, Dimitris Gavalakis.
