Ljubljana – In just over two weeks since this year’s tourist vouchers became available, Slovenian residents have spent almost EUR 11 million, or almost 6% of the available sum which totals EUR 186.78 million, the Financial Administration (FURS) told the STA on Tuesday.

Ljubljana – The National Assembly passed on Wednesday an emergency bill worth EUR 243.5 million to help the embattled tourism sector. The short-time work scheme has been extended and new holiday vouchers introduced. The opposition warned that the measures, which are this time aimed at the most affected sectors, came too late and were insufficient.

Ljubljana – The government extended the measures from the sixth stimulus package which facilitate tax compliance for tax payers, or companies. The measures that would have expired at the end of 2020 will now be in place until the end of March, the Finance Ministry said after Monday’s correspondence government session.

Ljubljana – The government extended the validity of tourism vouchers until the end of 2021 on Thursday. Announcing the move, government spokesman Jelko Kacin said that the decision aimed to help the tourism sector, which has been badly hit by the epidemic.

Tourism vouchers were introduced as part of the third stimulus package, which was passed in parliament in late May.
