Police confirm body washed ashore of missing girl in Antalya

The police have confirmed that one of the nine bodies washed up on the southern coasts of the country is that of an 18-year-old girl who went missing for approximately two weeks.

Merve Şevval Elmas, a first-year gastronomy student at Akdeniz University, had been reported missing by her family since Jan. 4.

Justice minister criticizes court ruling in high-profile femicide case

Turkish Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ has joined the public anger by criticizing the "unjust provocation discount" a court has given in the case of Cemal Metin Avcı, the murderer of university student Pınar Gültekin.

Speaking at a conference on the law on June 23, Bozdağ highlighted that the issue of "unjust provocation discount" should be discussed.

Assailants open fire at car dealership, kill three

Three people were killed in an armed attack at a car dealership in Istanbul's Bağcılar district late on Nov. 13.

The incident occurred after a group of attackers came to the scene in two different cars and opened fire at the store.

Three people identified as Cemal D., Engin D. and Polat D. succumbed to their wounds while the suspects escaped.
