Landscape assessment at grassroots via geoinformatics
An intriguing and unique European research initiative, supervised by Greek experts, seeks to develop approaches and methodologies for assessing landscape quality in rural regions in order to safeguard it.
In fact, it employs as its primary tools, on the one hand, citizen engagement and, on the other, the most advanced technologies of geoinformatics and artificial intelligence.
Sizzling temperatures spark marine heatwave

Cyber attack on PM’s office, state bodies attributed to foreign spies
The Prime Minister's office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Intelligence Service (EYP) and the Hellenic Police (ELAS) were the targets of an international cyber espionage campaign in April 2019 code-named "Sea Turtle."
According to verified sources, the unknown perpetrators were able to gain access to the internal networks of government agencies.
Global hackers targeted Greek state websites
At least three Greek government websites were targeted by the global hackers' group Sea Turtle in April of last year, Kathimerini understands.
The aim of the hackers was to steal employees' passwords and gain access to the internal networks of sensitive state services.
