French embassy in Bucharest

Brancusi Day was celebrated online, on Wednesday, by the embassies in Bucharest, with images of the sculptor's works from all over the world, from his workshop arranged in the "Pompidou" Center in Paris to the collection of the "Guggenheim" Museum in New York.

On Thursday at the French Embassy in Bucharest, Chairman of Romania's Senate Calin Popescu-Tariceanu was presented France's Knight of the Legion of Honour decoration, at a ceremony also attended by Princess Margareta, Prince Radu, former presidents Ion Iliescu and Emil Constantinescu, along with political figures and more.

Minister of Education and Scientific Research Sorin Cimpeanu signed, on Thursday, the condolence book open at the French Embassy in Bucharest, as a sign of compassion for the victims of the attack in Paris.

Prime Minister Victor Ponta on Monday said talks between him and President Traian Basescu at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace was political propaganda for the chief of state, and that in his opinion the President can do what he pleases in relation to the cut in the social security contributions (CAS).
