Cyprus announces increase in tourism budget

Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides announced a 10-million-euro increase in the 2025 budget for the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, aimed at promoting Cyprus internationally.

Speaking at the General Assembly of the Cyprus Hotel Association (CHA), the president also unveiled a five-year plan designed to mitigate seasonality in the tourism sector. 

Djuric: Belgrade appreciates Brazil's position on Serbia's territorial integrity

ASUNCION - Serbian FM Marko Djuric met with Brazilian Foreign Ministry official Maria Laura da Rocha on Thursday, noting that the Kosovo-Metohija issue was the top national and state priority for Serbia and that Belgrade highly appreciated Brazil's principled position on respect of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.

Greece elected to UN Security Council as non-permanent member

Greece has been elected a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for a third time.

The country will hold the seat for the 2025-2026 term.

As there were five candidate countries for the five non-permanent member positions, the country's election was certain. Yet, its nomination garnered 182 votes from the General Assembly.

Türkiye welcomes UN votes in favor of Palestinian membership

Türkiye on Friday expressed its approval of the U.N. resolution granting the Palestinians additional rights in the global body and backed their drive for full membership, which is blocked by the United States.

"We welcome the U.N. General Assembly resolution to expand Palestine's rights and privileges at the U.N.," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
