Student and principal attacked at Athens school

A 19-year-old male has been taken into custody after an attack on a student and the principal at a school in the downtown Athens district of Patissia on Tuesday morning.

The suspect allegedly barged into the school campus carrying a hammer, which he used to strike the 17-year-old student, and a knife with which he stabbed the school principal when he intervened.

Three people injured in shooting outside Athens nightclub

Three people have been hospitalized after receiving injuries in a shooting outside a nightclub in central Athens.

The shooting occurred shortly before 7 a.m. outside a club on Iakchou Street in Gazi.

According to ERT, a vehicle SUV with no number plates pulled up outside the venue and a passenger opened fire.

Two injured, two arrested in clashes in central Athens

Two people were injured and two more were arrested during a clash between foreign nationals near Omonoia square in central Athens late Wednesday night, state-run news agency ANA-MPA reported on Thursday.

Police said two people were transferred to the Gennimatas hospital after suffering injuries from a sharp object.

It is not clear what caused the fight.
