Bulgaria's anti-establishment party "There is such a people" (ITN), which is currently leading negotiations with other parties to form a government, has accused partner parties of having tried to influence the future government without having the right to do so, which according to parliamentary group leader Toshko Yordano, could lead to new elections - the third within a year.

Bulgarian caretaker Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov told Parliament that migration pressure on the country is increasing. "We are indeed seeing an increased migration pressure, the kind of pressure that also existed before the caretaker government took office," Rashkov said during a parliamentary hearing held on a motion by the formerly ruling GERB party.

Today, President Rumen Radev will hold consultations with representatives of all parliamentary groups before handing over the mandate for forming a government to the nominee for prime minister of the largest of them.

"I could be prime minister in a regular cabinet, but not at any cost," Prime Minister Stefan Yanev told BTV.

He clarified that so far no such talks have been held with him.

"If such an invitation arrives, it must be based on priorities, visions, a program and a coalition that will nominate a government," Yanev added.

"The Americans do not negotiate with terrorists. Neither do we," said deputy-chairman of Slavi Trifonov's party "There is Such a People".

Toshko Yordanov answered a question about whether the party would take part in a pre-election debate with GERB leader Boyko Borissov.

Bulgarians are losing count of the scandals. There's a Watergate-style wiretapping scandal. There's an agricultural tycoon accusing the government of former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov of extortion. And there's a state-owned bank providing hundreds of millions of euros to a small batch of favored companies.

Slavi Trifonov, a popular former talk show host and singer and political newcomer, on Monday, hinted that he might run directly for the post of Prime Minister, or take part in the Presidential elections due later this year.

Bulgarian MEPs from former prime minister Boyko Borissov's GERB party sent a letter addressed to all groups in the European Parliament, criticising the actions of the caretaker government, claiming it was "nominated by pro-Kremlin President Rumen Radev."

In an interview on Friday morning, he added that caretaker Prime Minister Stephan Yanev has also been tracked by the security agencies over the same period. Rashkov, a lawyer, warned that he believed evidence about the wiretapping is being destroyed.
