Over 100 Ukrainians to be accommodated in Postojna

Ljubljana – A hundred and twenty Ukrainian citizens who have already been granted temporary protection status in Slovenia or have requested it will be placed in an accommodation centre in the town of Postojna, south-west, the government said after Friday’s session, at which it took a decision to establish the centre.

Slovenian crucial for integration of foreigners, debate hears

Slovenska Bistrica – A debate on inclusion of foreigners into local environment, especially education and healthcare, was held on Monday in Slovenska Bistrica, where increasingly many foreigners live due to growing demands on the labour market. Illegal migration in January-April period up 86% y/y

Ljubljana – Slovenian police dealt with 3,107 cases of illegal migration in the first four months of this year, up nearly 86% on the same period last year. Afghan citizens accounted for more than a quarter of all the illegal migrants caught from January through April, fresh police data shows.

Jelšane could accommodate 80-100 Ukrainian refugees

Ljubljana – The Government Office for the Support and Integration of Migrants is preparing a facility at the border crossing of Jelšane, south-west, for Ukrainian refugees. Its director Katarina Štrukelj said that it could accept 80-100 refugees, depending on how many more arrive in the future.
