Top court upholds police decision to seize shipowner's passport

A section of Greece's Council of State on Tuesday ruled that a decision by the Greek Police (ELAS) to seize the passport of a shipowner and football club owner who has been charged with felonies was constitutional.

The shipowner had been charged with running and participating in a criminal gang and drug trafficking and barred from leaving the country in 2018.

Ruling lifts final barrier to Elliniko project

In a ruling made public on Friday, Greece's Council of State effectively lifted the final barrier to a major investment at the site of the capital's old airport at Elliniko.

The decision of the country's highest administrative court deemed as legal the procedures that have been followed to date as regards feasibility studies and environmental issues.

VMRO-DPMNE leader walks out of referendum debate in FYROM

A meeting of political leaders in Skopje on Wednesday evening to debate the referendum on the name deal with Greece was disrupted when VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski stormed out, claiming that not all parliamentary parties were represented. 

The meeting had been expected to set a date for the referendum, which, according to last month's deal, will be held in the fall.
