Vangelis Grammenos elected new Greek Soccer Federation chief

Vangelis Grammenos has been elected as the new head of the Greek Soccer Federation (EPO). The former chief of the Association of Macedonian Football Clubs (EPS) comes to the helm at a troubled time for EPO, which has been monitored by the international governing body of soccer, FIFA, since last October, following months of turmoil on and off the pitch.

Soccer clubs appeal ruling

The Greek Soccer Federation's (EPO) appeals council will discuss on Monday the challenges lodged by AEK Athens and Thessaloniki club PAOK to punishments received over violence at last month's Greek Cup final in Volos, central Greece.

Dozens were injured in the clashes at the Panthessaliko Stadium between the supporters of the two clubs and riot police.

Greece fans launch Facebook campaign to get 'Wee Jay' to Brazil

Fans of the Greek national squad, which made it into the top 16 of the World Cup this week, have launched a Facebook campaign, "O JAY PAEI Mundial," in a bid to convince the Greek Soccer Federation (EPO) to spring for the tickets to get an 11-year-old Scottish fan of team striker Georgios Samaras to Brazil in time to see Greece square off with Costa Rica on Sunday.
