Polakis spars in public with hospital workers chief

Hospital doctors and medical staff in Attica will walk off the job from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, according to a statement by the Federation of Hospital Doctors of Greece and the national union of public hospital workers.
Their demands include permanent hirings, the employment of support staff and wage increases.
Hospital work stoppage on Wednesday
Staff at public hospitals will walk off the job from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday to push their demand for better working conditions.
According to the union of public hospital workers (POEDIN), the employees are working in deplorable conditions and are demanding wage increases, further training as well as an expansion of benefits.

Doctors to walk off the job Wednesday afternoon
Doctors at state hospitals are expected to walk off the job from 1 p.m. through the end of the day's shift on Wednesday.
The action has been called by the Federation of Greek Hospital Doctors (OENGE) in protest at the government's policy regarding new appointments at public hospitals, collective labor contracts and social security contributions.
