Turkey lowers vaccine eligibility age, receives more doses of Sinovac's vaccine

Turkey has lowered the COVID-19 vaccination eligibility age to 30, the health minister announced on June 19.

"The age limit for vaccine appointments has been reduced to 30. People over 30 years old can make an appointment as of tomorrow," Fahrettin Koca wrote on Twitter.

Turkey administers over 1.58 mln vaccine shots in last 24 hours

Turkey has administered over 1.58 million shots of COVID-19 vaccines in the last 24 hours, the country's health minister announced on June 17. 

"Today, the 1.5 millionth dose of vaccine was administered at 09.43 p.m. Our vaccination squads delivered 82,232 vaccine doses in over two hours," Fahrettin Koca said on Twitter.

Turkey administered more than 1.41 million coronavirus vaccine doses in the past 24 hours, breaking Tuesday's record, the country's health minister said on June 16. 

"As of midnight, 47,314 healthcare workers administered over 1.41 million vaccine jabs at 18,584 health centers," Fahrettin Koca said on Twitter.
