Emergency plan for medicines shortage
In an effort to address a shortage in certain medicines, the Health Ministry announced a series of measures on Monday that include an increase in the prices of very low-cost drugs so that they are promoted in the Greek market and not in the international market where their prices are much higher.

70 pct of cosmetic products unsafe: Ministry
The Health Ministry has determined that 70 percent of cosmetic products, including mosquito repellent and disinfectants, are unsafe and against the legislation.

Health centers to be established for elderly within hospitals
A project has been prepared upon the request of the Health Ministry to establish health centers for the elderly within hospitals, which will enable them to be treated at the nearest location.

Daily coronavirus count persists at over 2,000
Ljubljana – Slovenia logged 2,402 new coronavirus cases for Wednesday, around 130 fewer than on Tuesday but around 350 more than on Wednesday last week, shows latest Health Ministry data. Three persons died, while there were no major changes in the number of Covid patients in hospitals. The number of active cases is estimated at 23,421, up by 851 on the day before.

Mistaken identity at hospital leads to family burying stranger
Celje/Ljubljana – A case of mistaken identity at Celje hospital has led to a family mourning and burying a stranger and the hospital management offering their resignation. Health Minister Danijel Bešič Loredan said that he too would resign if PM Robert Golob found he was also responsible. Golob said the minister was doing a great job.
Coronavirus uptick persisting
Ljubljana – Slovenia logged 2,528 daily coronavirus cases on Tuesday, 708 more than a week ago but down significantly on Monday’s six-month record of 4,530. Four patients with Covid-19 died. Hospital care due to Covid-19 was needed for 73 people, including six at intensive units, respectively down by five and one on the day before, data released by the Health Ministry shows.

Long Covid treatment available next year
Ljubljana – Treatments for long-term effects of coronavirus will be rolled out next year under the Health Ministry’s guidelines for services at primary health care level. The work of experts from various fields will be funded by the public insurance fund ZZZS, Minister Danijel Bešič Loredan said.

Flu vaccine free of charge also this year
Ljubljana – Vaccination against the flu will be free of charge for all Slovenian residents with health insurance this season after it was already free the last two seasons to better fight the coronavirus epidemic.

Weekend Covid figures down week-on-week
Ljubljana – A total of 2,175 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Slovenia from Friday to Sunday or 286 cases fewer than in the same period a week ago, the latest data by the Health Ministry show. One Covid-19 patient died in the three-day period.
