Turkey’s naval build-up has Hellenic Navy considering the purchase of more ships
The announcement of the shipbuilding program by the Turkish Armed Forces and the geopolitical challenges in the wider region have prompted the Hellenic Navy to explore acquiring more ships.
As outlined in the plan presented to parliament in November by Defense Minister Nikos Dendias, the Hellenic Navy aims for a fleet of 16 main vessels by 2035.

Accident with one dead Hellenic Navy Seal NCO in the Underwater Demolition Unit
A non-commissioned officer of the Underwater Demolition Command tragically lost his life on Friday morning.
According to the announcement from the Hellenic Navy General Staff (HNGS):
“On Friday, November 29, 2024, at approximately 12:10, during training at the Underwater Demolition Command, Leading Seaman (T/HN/DB) A.K. lost consciousness.
Two Greek researchers to embark on Antarctic expedition
