Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Serbia

BELGRADE - The reconstructed House of Human Rights and Democracy opened in Belgrade on Thursday and it aims to ensure more comprehensive action in the human rights sector through cooperation between local and international civilian society organisations and thus contribute to the democratisation of the society.

THE HAGUE - The hearing continues on Tuesday before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in the dispute between Serbia and Croatia on mutual suits for genocide committed in the territory of Croatia in the period from 1991 to 1995 by further presentation of arguments by the Croatian legal team, followed by cross-examination of witnesses proposed by Croatia.

Swiss Ambassador Jean-Daniel Ruch says a priority of the Swiss OSCE chairmanship are stronger ties with civil society and promotion of its active involvement.
