Karadağlı takes over State Theaters, Memiş assumes AFAD leadership

Famed actress Tamer Karadağlı assumes the role of general manager at the Turkish State Theaters (DT), while Okay Memiş, the governor of Erzurum, steps into the chairmanship of the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), according to the announcement in the Official Gazette.

Casting lots for housing project in Istanbul begins

Within the scope of the İlk Evim (My First Home) Project, the first drawing of lots for Istanbul's Tuzla district took place on March 16, with owners of 20,920 new houses determined already.

The draw was held at Tuzla Viaport Marina in the municipality's event tent at 10 a.m. and was broadcast live online.

Government mulls housing project for mid-income groups

As part of its efforts to address the growing problems regarding property prices and rents, the government considers launching a new project to build houses for middle and upper-middle income groups.

Emlak Konut Real Estate Investment Company will coordinate the project, but private developers will also take part in the scheme.

Horse barn in historic settlement becomes museum

A horse barn, discovered by archaeologists in Kayaşehir, will be reorganized as the Natural History Museum. Kayaşehir is a historical rock-cut hillside settlement that was discovered by chance during the urban transformation works carried out by the Housing Development Administration (TOKİ) seven years ago in the Central Anatolian province of Nevşehir.
