IMF: Serbia's GDP growth higher than predicted

At the end of their visit to Belgrade for the first consideration of a new arrangement, they also indicated that structural reforms should be accelerated, Beta agency reported.

The full implementation of the program of structural reforms will have additional positive effects on the growth potential, reads the statement of IMF Mission chief James Roaf.

Official talks launched with IMF

They will discuss the results of the new macroeconomic and structural reforms, supported by the PCI-Policy Coordination Instrument, the Serbian government has announced.

The Serbian delegation is led by NBS Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic, who also represents Serbia at the IMF, and includes representatives of the ministries of finance and economy.

IMF praises Serbian government

The IMF has praised "the outstanding results that the Serbian government has achieved in 2016 in all segments of the agreed reforms."

This is especially true of "the domain of fiscal policy," the Serbian government announced on Monday.

This statement followed a meeting in Belgrade between Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and head of the IMF Mission to Serbia James Roaf.

IMF board approves 6th review under arrangement with Serbia

The Executive Board of the IMF on Friday approved the sixth review under a precautionary stand-by arrangement with Serbia, Tanjug has learned.

Concluding a November visit to Belgrade regarding the fifth and the sixth review under the arrangement, IMF Mission head James Roaf praised Serbia's economic success, noting the good results of the economic program were continuing.
